How to Create an Infographic

Step-by-step guide to creating fixed-size infographics with a wide range of shapes and interactive data visualisation shapes with configurators, layering, grouping, visual effects, gradient fills, and export to SVG, PNG, JPEG, or PDF.

Goal

Create a polished, fixed-size infographic using the diagram editor's infographic mode. The finished graphic exports to SVG, PNG, JPEG, or PDF and embeds directly into documentation pages.

Step 1: Create a New Diagram

Step 2: Enable Infographic Mode and Select a Canvas Preset

Infographic mode provides a fixed-size canvas with a visible boundary. Select from five canvas presets.

PresetDimensions (px)Use Case
16:91920 x 1080Digital displays, widescreen monitors
4:31600 x 1200Classic slide format, legacy projectors
1:11200 x 1200Square format, social media posts
A4 Portrait2480 x 3508Print output at 300 DPI
A4 Landscape3508 x 2480Print output at 300 DPI, landscape orientation

Step 3: Add and Style Shapes

Step 4: Use the Layers Panel

The layers panel (in the Layers and Styles tab) shows all shapes in reverse z-order. Use it to control stacking, visibility, and locking.

Step 5: Group Shapes

Grouping bundles multiple shapes so they move, hide, and lock as a unit.

Step 6: Use the Component Library

The infographic component library provides pre-built visual components (badges, callout boxes, stat cards, icon lists) that you drag directly onto the canvas. Save your own frequently used shape combinations as user components for reuse across infographics.

Step 7: Export the Infographic

Step 8: Embed in a Documentation Page
